[comp.periphs.printers] Imageable areas on postscript printers

paul@castle.ed.ac.uk (Paul Haldane) (04/11/91)

I'm looking for advice on PostScript printers and imagable areas. We
have several PS printers of various brands around the University and it
seems that each printer has a different idea about which bits of the
paper it is prepared to print on. This means that when you use enscript
or something similar to send text you may lose an assorted number of
lines off one end of the page. It would be nice if you could always
rely on being able to print stuff in a rectangle with one corner at 0,0.

Does anybody know of a neat way of doing this?

I know of the setmargins command but this isn't what I need (at least I
don't think it is).
