[comp.periphs.printers] Citizen Ouverture 106

Since a couple of weeks I am the owner of a Citizen Ouverture 106 laser
printer. I bought the printer cheap at an auction. The printer has 0.5 MB
memory, that can be expanded to 2 MB by adding a memory expansion board. I
fear that the price of an official upgrade (if still avbailable) would be
higher than the price I payed for th printer. I am looking for a cheaper way
to expand the memory. Would it e.g be possible to replace the chips on the
board?

If not I wonder if the compute engine in the printer might be a common type
used by many manufacturers in their printers or that it has been developed by
Citizen and is used in their printers only. If this is a common board it
may be easier to find a cheap memory expansion board.

Can anybody give me a clue about the whatabouts of this printer?

Thanks,

Hi,

I have a Citizin Ouverture 106 laser printer. It contains a
Sharp X0684FC-7Y computer board. I wonder which brands are
also using this board.

The reason I ask is that this Citizin model seems relatively
rare and I never see ads for memory upgrades. However it could
well be that board for other brands will fit because they also
use this Sharp board. The same applies to font cards.

I am also interested in the make of the print engine for the
same reason. Which brands are compatible so I can use toner
cartridges etc.

Thanks,
