Hi Printer Users, I am buying a laser printer for the first time. I have a few silly questions about the LaserJet IIP which I could not get answered after spending 2-3 hrs on the information I have: (Some of them might be very specific questions whose answers may be known only to people who use them regularly. 1. Does the Lower Letter Cassette Option provide a default envelope slot to get envelope printing? Or does one have to order the separate envelope tray? If so, what are the advantages/disadvantages? 2. The stuff I read says that min. 2Mb memory is required to use the Postscript cartridge option. Is that necessary? If so, are there any cheaper memory boards outside that I can get (from FRY's or somewhere) (as opposed to HP's memory boards) 3. What is the difference between IIP and IID? I suspect the IID can print double sided. Is that the diff or some more that I will miss if I buy the IIP? 4. Are non-HP Black Toner cartridges recommended, if they happen to be cheaper? 5. Is there an option between Postscript cartridge and a hardware postscript interface? Is so, what is the printing speed with each of them? Obviosuly the h/w i/f may be faster. So how much I am losing if I get the cartridge? 6. To use the envelope option, does one have to use any kind of envelope driver in the wordprocessing software that one uses? 7. What's the difference between letter-size tray and a A4 size tray? They have two separate options. Also, is the tray the collector and the cassette the feeder? If not, what is the difference bet. tray and cassette? This is because the cassette is more expensive. The cassette option includes the letter-size tray. Even if I get that, seems like I may miss the A4-size tray, if at all it is significantly useful. Thank You. Manoj Joshi manoj@hpldas5.hp.com
