[comp.sys.mac.programmer] How to ...

shinberd@unioncs.UUCP (David Shinberg) (03/13/88)

I am currently writting a program to perform highspeed data collection using
an A to D converter and a SE. Three questions/bugs have arised.

First I was trying to copy the code from "The Macintosh Revealed" vol 2 2nd ed,
but the code (DoSaveAs) will not even compile. I am using MPW Pascal v 2.0.
However, I found the book to be a fairly good introduction to programming the
Mac.

The next problem is using scroll bars on the windows. I am not totaly sure
when and where to update the scroll bars. Currently my program seems to
be redrawing them to frequently and causing the scroll bars to flicker.

As part of the program I want to set up a spread sheet looking window.
This was originally done using quickdraw and drawstring. (which works
satisfactorally) How is this noramally done? (or should I use TextEdit)?

Any Help will be greatly appreciated!!
