I am in great need of a good debugger to use on a Mac II with MPW Pascal 2.0. Since most of my experience comes from working on a VAX under VMS I have become very used to a source level debugger. Does such a beast exist for the Mac/MPW? I am currently using MacsBug, which I find very awkward. I particularly hate the way it flips screens after each step command (even if I use s 10). One interesting thing did happen with MacsBug, when the Mac is in color mode the background for the debugger display is light blue. The other problem I have with MacsBug is how to determine what memory location one of my variables is assigned to. At this point I have pretty much convinced myself that it can't be easily done. I really wonder if this is the debugger that everyone at apple uses? Any information regarding which debbuger to use and why would be greatly appreciated. If the response is great enough I will post a summary to the net. Please forgive me if this is an old topic. (on the other the Mac II is new isn't it) Many Thanks Dave S |~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| | Disclaimer: Don't blame me ... Yes, PLEASE!!!! Somebody write a source-level debugger for MPW Pascal, with MacApp (Object-Pascal) extensions. You've got a ready buyer here. Gary L. Bringhurst
