Now I know this may sound funny, but with all the computing power and expertise around Sandia Labs I cannot locate a Macintosh programmer. [We seem to be mostly proliferated with Fortran programmers who spend their days sending jobs through one of our Crays...] We need a piece of code written that will probably be fairly simple. We have a font which looks to be hand written. To make it more convincing, there are (currently) two versions of each character which are slightly different from each other. The first set is defined normally, while the second is accessed as the corresponding option-character keystroke. We would like to automatically toggle between the two. This could be done on the fly, or after the fact [such as select the existing type, copy to the clipboard, and then 'toggle-paste']. We had a local programmer write a desk accessory which does the toggling on the fly, but it only works acceptably with MacDraw, and we really need it to work with things like Page Maker. Anyone interested? We would like to purchase the source if it's within our budget. Email me for more information. {ucbvax | gatech}!unmvax!intvax!loucks P.S. If anyone has a better way defining/accessing alternate characters, I would appreciate hearing from them. -- A society is not civilized until it domesticates the icecube.
