Does anybody out there use the latest version of Manx Aztec C as advertised in the May MacTutor. According to their advertisement, it has a lot of nice features including a new source level debugger. Since I am an MPW user, I was particularly interested in the MPW compatibility. The man on the phone said it both the compiler and the Source Debugger (SDB) run as MPW tools. What is the extent of MPW support. They also suggest that an optimizer is available but I didn't ask when I called. What are their views on strings in toolbox calls? Do they require ctop and ptoc kinds of functions? I know they are historically the most Unix-like of the C environments running on the Mac but I don't really want to use it if it won't run under MPW so this isn't a factor in my decision to buy it. A source level debugger might be kind of nice and MPW 3.0 won't be around for a while. If you use Aztec C and have experience with it as an MPW tool write me please. I will summarize if I get some responses. ------------------------ Kim Gillies National Optical Astronomy Observatory Tucson, AZ 85719 6023259246 UUCP: ihnp4!noao!gillies Internet: gillies@noao.arizona.edu
