[comp.sys.mac.programmer] What's up with ADSP?

ggr@granjon.UUCP (Guy Riddle) (07/06/88)

Does anyone know the status of ADSP -- the AppleTalk Data Stream Protocol?

I have an application that needs a full-duplex stream protocol and doesn't
need (or have) any ``transactions''. After perusing the ``Preliminary Note''
on ADSP from APDA it seems like the right thing for my job.

So is ADSP in System 6.0? Is it coming soon?
Has it been dropped in favor of TP4? TCP?

Can I get hold of a beta DRVR (with MPW glue) from our friends out West?

The ADSP driver is supplied as part of MacWorkStation (the set of software to
let a mini- or mainframe host drive a window/menu/icon interface on a Macintosh.

I don't think it's available separately yet though ...
