I adapted a communication program to send files to our printing office. After transmission, I want the program to rename the file to <old filename> date/time so we know whether or not a file was sent and when that occurred. For that I use the Rename function [rename(fName, refnum, newName)] and on my computer it works like a train. But on another computer (the computer that is used for sending it sometimes does and sometimes does not rename the file that was sent. If I trye to send it a couple of times, after about 5 attempts it does rename the file. And I _do_ know the function is called. Any ideas? The file is on a shared volume (using Tops) but if I install my harddisk to be multi-user, there still is no problem. The faulty systems is: - Mac II - SuperMac b/w screen - System 5.0 (same as development Mac II) Any clue is appreciated... -- Paul Molenaar "Just checking the walls" - Basil Fawlty -
