From: Chuck McManis <MCMANIS@usc-eclc> Someone in Byte is selling an S-100 version of Steve Ciarcias implementation of the TI color graphics chip. It has 256-192 resolution with 32 "sprites" however I have heard a rumor that more than 4 sprites on a line will kill it (ie breakup the picture). This would seem an Ideal board for users of S-100 systems who are secretly envious of Atari 800 users who have available the game option. If anyone is interested I will dig up the address. --Chuck -------

There has been or was an ad in Byte for a long time for an S-100 board including both the TI 9918 sprite chip and the GI AY3-8910 sound chip. However, while this hardware is capable of some pretty neat graphics, do not underestimate the man-months involved in developing the typical recent Atari arcade game! There is some damn good programming going on in the best video games, and having roughly comparable hardware on another system does not give you Atari graphics. (I am in no way connected with Atari).
