The 6.1 Finder & 6.0 MultiFinder have the capability of opening a document for an application that is already open. As I understand the mechanism the MultiFinder has a resource which holds a list of possible text that might be used in the applications File menu to open up a file. The MultiFinder then looks for a match in the applications menus and then does a menu event with that menu item and then some how passes the file name to the application. I'm trying to make an application work that way and it doesn't. My question for anyone who knows (hopefully APPLE) is does this mechanism work with custom Standard Get File dialogs or if you hook into the SFGetDialog? If anyone has the MultiFinder Developers Package from APDA could you comment on anything it has to say about this mechanism. Thanks in advance. -- Tony Jacobs * Center for Engineering Design * U of U * t-jacobs@ced.utah.edu
