Lateley I've been reading a very interesting dissertation from someone at Brown. It's called Algorithm Animation, by Marc H. Brown. In it he describes an algorithm animator which he and others developed at Brown, called BALSA (Brown Algorithm Simulator and Animator). Their BALSA-II version runs on a Macintosh. Our Computer Science group here is very interested in BALSA-II, and I was wondering if there is any way to play with it ourselves. Is it for sale? Is it available anywhere? We were just planning on doing some sorting animation ourselves, and BALSA-II seems like a very sophisticated way of doing it. Algorithm Animation, Marc H.
