Indeed, the IM-V Sound Manager chapter staring at me does an admirable job of explaining the use of "snd " resources on a Mac II. However, I'm programming in LightspeedC 2.15 on a Plus and it would be groovy to use sounds created by MacRecorder when programming for machines other than the Mac II. Nothing personal, of course... I'd guess that the only way to achieve this is by ripping apart the sampled sound data table (IM-V p. 395) and sticking it into a free-form synth record to let the Sound Driver play with it (IM-II and some TN which isn't in the office). The question is: does anybody have an even cheaper, dirtier method? Thanks - paco. NB: Thanks to everybody for the tips about default dialog buttons... Farallon, if you're listening, MacRecorder is a wonderful product, at a nice price too. Some example code would be a nifty addition to your manual though, eg. like what Opcode did for MIDI files in their Sequencer manual.

System 6.0 patches in the new sound manager routines into MacPlus, MacSE and other machines :-). So, all you need to do is check SysEnvirons for proper system version and voila everything is honky dorey. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Byron Han, Communications Architect "Just say NO to MS-DOS."
