At work we have a tape drive connected to a Mac II. We wrote a driver for it and we link this driver into an application that reads and writes to the tape drive. Now some people want to use this tape device as a backup device too. However I don't have the time or desire to write a backup program just for in house use. Insted I would like to use a thierd party program with my tape unit and driver. The question is how do we make the driver available to a backup program? Is there even a backup program that uses many tape drivers? Do I write an init to load the driver into the system? All the information I have been able to find involves disk drives.
