The IBM "peanut" is not the only new personal computer that IBM is rumored to be working on. There is also a multi-user, hard disk machine supposedly in the works. It is code named popcorn. The rumor has it that they will be software compatable with the present IBM PC. ( I also reference the Wall Street Journal!!) IBM has not yet announced either of these computers! A recent article in net.micro.atari stated that IBM had formally announced the Peanut. I hadn't heard this, and am somewhat surprised, since the last rumor I heard was that Peanut would not be introduced until early next year. Can anyone give the straight scoop? A recent article in the Wall Street Journal said that IBM dealers had been told to expect the Peanut this fall. When asked about this, an IBM spokesperson told the Journal that "it is not IBM's policy to comment about products that are not yet released."
