[comp.sys.mac.programmer] Chooser Printer Drivers?

wiechman@athos.rutgers.edu (NightMeower) (10/12/88)

Has anyone had luck with getting docs, code, etc. for a chooser
printer driver written in MPW Pascal? Inside Mac is vague, Tech notes
aren't much help either, and MacTutor is in LSC and compiler
dependent.

Any leads on information, hints, code, etc. would be greatly
appreciated.

P.S. Rumor had it that Apple was going to release new information on
this subject in ~9-12 months in a statement 9 months ago.

Also, the LSC code in MacTutor has bugs. If you try to print a few
times (or if you use APPLE-P to print from finder), you'll see the
driver crash (on a Mac II, w/system < 6.0, finder 4.2). This happens
with the revised PD driver (Daisy 2.0), and also the one I typed in &
compiled with LSC 3.0.

This is real strange, since I am the Daisy author, and am only up to
version 1.1.

The present version of Daisy, v 1.1, is written in MPW C and MPW
Assembler, and has had many many bugs removed which were in the LSC
version. I am sure that many remain.

Then again, many people report that they use one or the other version
every day, with no problems.
