[comp.sys.mac.programmer] Compiling CDEVs?

I've been asked to investigate creating CDEVs.  In my search
for sample CDEVs I found Apple's example cdev pascal source
and resource descriptions in Inside Macintosh V.  Unfortunately,
after succesfully compiling and 'rezing' the files in MPW, I'm
not sure of the correct process to link the object code as a
'CDEV' resource (as opposed to a CODE resource).

I would be extremely appreciative if someone could send me
information on how to correcly build Apple's 'Sample CDEV', or
any other pertinate information concerning generating CDEV's
with MPW 2.0.
