OK, what I want to do is probably easy. Not being a programmer, though, I'm clueless as to how it's done. Or if it can be. I'm in charge of creating and distributing settings files for MacKermit that map the keyboard certain ways for certain systems. I'd like to mark each file with a version number such that it shows up in the Finder's Get Info box next to "Version:". These are Kermit-created documents ... not application files. Right now Get Info simply puts "not available" at the Version line. Can I easily put some text here? With ResEdit or something? What's the procedure? Please respond by email as I don't normally read the programmers' newsgroup.
