We recently purchased a copy of MPW v2.0.2 (as well as MACApp v1.1.1, MPW Pascal v2.0.2 and MPW C v2.0.2) thru APDA and found that if ResEdit is used to examine/edit DLOG for a particular application the windowing system's integrity is corrupted. The Dialog window which is presented is half exposed and cannot be recovered unless a sub-window is selected and then closed. The window is then regenerated properly but it is corrupted as soon as it is selected again. We contacted APDA for a product status and found that there is both an update to MPW v2.0.2 (US$15) _AND_ ResEdit (US$10) [as well as a new v3.0B1 of MPW for big $$]. My questions to the net are; 1) has anyone experienced these problems with ResEdit? 2) if yes, will either of the upgrades fix the problem (or any info on what exactly the upgrades are for;- the person at APDA didn't have a clue). 3) or is this a Multifinder/system problem? We have a MAC II with 2 MB running Multifinder 6.0, System 4.2 and have ResEdit v1.1B3. Thanx in advance for any help. :flame-ON (This opens a whole discussion of whether one should be required to _PAY_ for bug fixes to a software product which was released in a BETA form [v1.1B3]. Being an APDA member buys you nothing other than the priviledge to purchase their products at the member price [there is no non-member price]). :flame-OFF -- Darel Mesher ...!uunet!mnetor!maccs!darel McMaster University darel@maccs.mcmaster.ca
