Is anyone out there doing anything with DECs famed J11? A better
question might be does anyone have a source for the chips?
I'm going to be working (would like to be) on a project involving
the J11 this fall here at UNCC. The early rumors had it that
only firms that could prove that they might require large
quantities in the future could get a hold of sample chips. That
leaves a grad student with not too much hope for obtaining one
or two. Also the latest DEC price list (july-sept 1983) did
not list the chip.
If anyone could point me in the right direction for getting
one of the chips it would be greatly appreciated. Also
I would mind hearing about what is being done with the chip,
whether it lives up to or falls short of its expectations,problems,
etc,etc. Please reply by mail and I'll present a summery
of any good or bad news to the net(.micro style).
