[comp.sys.mac.programmer] Think Pascal 2.0 bug

lipa@POLYA.STANFORD.EDU (William Lipa) (11/26/88)

Here's another problem with the latest release of Think Pascal: say you have a
Code Resource project. When you Build Code Resource, everything works OK and
the code resource file shows up in your directory. But now Build Code Resource
again. You'll get the alert "Replace old <whatever>?". So far so good, but if
you answer yes, the linker will report "Macintosh error: Duplicate file name"
and won't finish the build. This happens about 20% of the time.

By the way, I think it is definitely worth upgrading to the latest version.
Even though there are a few rough edges, the program is vastly improved. Two
subtle changes I appreciate: the debugger doesn't crash on a call to
UseResFile(0), and you don't have to cast Handles and Ptrs to longints in the
Observe window. Little things which make my life easier...
