[comp.sys.mac.programmer] Need help with Mac INIT

trent@dalcs.UUCP (Trent MacDougall) (12/03/88)

I've never programmed on a Mac before so I need some serious HELP with this.

To give you some background, we are using some Macs to print to a laserwriter
connected to our Sun using the KIP/CAP software (lwsrv). Since we keep
track of accounting wrt laserprinting I modified lwsrv and added a routine
called lwauth to get a 'username:password' entry from the chooser's username
box to check user authorization (lwpasswd file), and then charge the usage to
the corresponding user on the Sun.

Now the problem. Some people forget to delete their password entry so the
next user to come along can get free printouts. So I was thinking maybe I
should write an init to zero out this STR resource. Does someone have some
kind of format that I could go by, to write this init (in LS Pascal)? Or am
I way off base on this idea? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
