[comp.sys.mac.programmer] Where oh where has my interface gone?

jcl@hpausla.HP.COM (Jeff Laing) (01/03/89)

I have been chasing the documentation on how to write your own editors
and pickers for ResEdit. I got reasonably close when I found a file
on a P.D. disk that contained the headers, but the corresponding object
library was not present.

Someone then told me that MPW contained all the necessary stuff, so I asked
everyone I knew who had MPW -- no, it wasn't present on their version 1 MPW
disks, and I couldn't afford to shell out on the off chance it was in a later
version.

Finally, I bought TML-II which comes with MPW thrown in and lo and
behold I find, mentioned in an obscure paragraph in the MPW manual,
something called ResEd which is exactly what I have been looking for.
The paragraph tells me to turn to the MPW Pascal Manual for more
details. Feverishly, I turn to the TML Pascal manual (foolishly assuming
that my quest was over) and what do I find?

Not one mention of ResEd in the index. Waaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!

(meaningful pause to regain lost demeanour. sob)

Question to TML: This is completely compatible with MPW-Pascal?

Question to Apple: Do you guys really only support Pascal programmers ? How
come there is not an interface for MPW-C and/or MPW-ASM ?

$POP$

Does anyone have these files in machine readable format? And are they
allowed to send me a copy? And would they (anyway) ? Please?
