[comp.sys.mac.programmer] Altering default CLUT?

I have a hunch this may have been asked and answered before--well, sorry.
Anyway, is it possible to set the default CLUT and any associated resources
to a value other than the one set at startup?  I can't seem to find any
resources in any of the system files which are relevant to this.
