I am having a problem with SCSI. If anyone can throw some light on the problem, I would be most grateful. My Mac II has an internal hard disk (at SCSI address zero. This can be verified by looking with SCSI Tools). My machine normally boots from this internal disk. I have just acquired an "Info 49er" external hard disk. If it's plugged into the back of the Mac, the internal disk is not recognized, and the Mac boots off the external disk. Using SCSCTools to look at the SCSI devices, the Mac is there at 7, the external disk at 3 (I have tried several values) but there is nothing at 0, where my internal disk ought to be. I tried zapping the PRAM. Didn't help. I also tried inserting a terminator between Mac and external disk. No change. The cable obviously works, as the external disk runs perfectly when connected. Incidentally, If I connect the cable to the Mac and leave the other end free (not connected to anything), the situation is the same as when the external disk is connected, ie. internal disk is not seen. If anyone has a solution for this problem, please let me know. Contact me by email: JTangney@cup.portal.com. Also, if all else fails, try me at (415) 255-1603 after 7:00 PST. TIA John Tangney
