My company needs two things: an email system and backup system. Our configuration is this: 6 Mac IIs, one Plus and a PC-AT clone. All the Mac IIs have at least an 80 meg local drive and we will have one 300 meg drive to use with a server (probably with the Plus). We are using LocalTalk cabling and TOPs for the moment. We cannot afford Ethernet unfortunately. For the email system, our needs are pretty small. Reliability and ease of use counts for a lot. For the backup system we have thought of 1) removeable media hard disk drives 2) small capacity tape cartridges (40-80 megs a shot) and 3) large capacity tape (1 gigabyte and up). Here reliability and ease of use are also important as well as speed and total time spent backing up. (Backups in the background!?) We will want to back up as often as possible. Any suggestions? Please email to me and I will summarize responses. Thanks. Nick Pilch Mountain Lake Software nicky@cup.portal.com sun!cup.portal.com!nicky
