I think I have found a serious bug in 6.0.3 system from Apple. I cannot do disk to disk (floppy) copies with my MacII. It has only its roms and an 800k drive. The FDHD is coming, but I have not gotten it yet.... Anyway, I try dragging either a file, folder, or whole disk; and it asks me for the other disk. Probably some check routine.... At this point everthing freezes. I have dumped all inits and extraneous cdevs. No luck. It sticks at the same place every time. This did not happen with 6.0.2 at all. Granted, 6.0.3 is for the SE, but I have an 030 daughterboard in my 020 socket running at a high speed. I hoped the .0.3 might help with some appletalk garbage I was not aware of, like packits... If anyone from Apple could send me email, and if anyone out there has a similar setup and gets the same problem... I am exponentially annoyed at bugs in x.x.x versions. Changing systems is a real hastle once you customize yours. I have a back up, but I always forget something. I want to avoid changing the system if at all possible. Maybe a resource is missing? Thanks. I think that I am at arpanet: jeffrey.buchsbaum@dartmouth.edu or jeffb@eleazar.dartmouth.edu
