CE Software, are you out there? Please correct me if I am mistaken, but
I think that I've found a bug in DiskTop 3.0.4 (otherwise great product!).
When using DiskTop to copy an entire folder (including contents) from a
floppy to a drop (ie write only) folder on a server, I get a message at
the end of each file transfer, error -5000, which is afpAccessDenied, according
to my trusty System Errors DA (useful freeware). I assume that DiskTop is
having trouble with the protected folder. The transfer works fine when done
by dragging the folder at the finder desktop level. The finder does point
out that I won't be able to examine the results of the transfer--DiskTop does
not, but this could be a legitimate programming decision.
Details: system 6.0.2, disktop 3.0.4 on a Mac II, appleshare client may 15,
1987, 5pm (can't get version at the moment). The server could be the problem
since it was custom written here at Dartmouth.
Also, suggestions for improving DiskTop-
1. add the find command to the menu, in addition to the button. this allows
users of hierDA to go directly to finding a file without waiting for the
window to open.
2. Add a "GetInfo" button in addition to the getinfo menu item--just for
those of us who are too lazy to go to the menu.
