[comp.sys.mac.programmer] InterPoll and new Macs

john@trigraph.UUCP (John Chew) (03/21/89)

The copy of Inter*Poll (v1.0) that I received just last week
does not recognize post-Mac II devices as devices capable of
transmitting system file version information.

While such devices (e.g. a Mac SE/30) can be individually
queried as to their system file versions, they will not automatically
be queried by the Special/System Information... menu item.

To fix this, use ResEdit to add new system names (Macintosh SE/30,
Macintosh IIx, Macintosh IIcx) to 'STR#' resource 101 (System Info
Devices) in your copy of Inter*Poll. Update the first string in
this resource to be a string representation of the number of system
names in the resource.
