[comp.sys.mac.programmer] Creating files in Turbo Pascal

I have a friend who has Turbo Pascal on the Mac.  His question is:

How do I create a file from within a Pascal program in Turbo Pascal?
The usual Pascal functions for opening and writing to a file does not
allow creation of new files if the file to be accessed does not exist.
