The Macintosh Programming Primer for LightSpeed C is an excellent book which gives some fairly good code for implementing scroll bars. The book can be found in most all major book stores. I know that BDalton Bookseller carries the book. Mac Revealed by Stephen Chernicoffis an excellent source for scrolling code. The MiniEdit source listing shows how they chose to handle the scrolling of text in an editor. Finally, sumex-aim.stanford.edu has a lot of good source code in its source directory.
