OK Mac experts, I have a riddle for you to solve: I have a resource file, created with ResEdit, that has ~40 snd's in it and it is about 1.9 Meg in size.I built this so that I can play the sounds with Suitcase and not clog my System file. About a week ago I noticed that 17 of the sounds became corrupted, i.e. they won't play. Suitcase gives an error message that there is "insufficient RAM" to play the sound. In ResEdit I get an error -108(not enough room in heap zone) when I try to open the resource with "open general" or a double click. If I try to copy, clear or otherwise manipulate any of the 'broken' snd's I get another error code that says there is insufficient memory to copy the resource( -193, which when I look it up means "resource file not found" ??? But I just clicked on it!). How can I fix these resources if that is at all possible? ResEdit does not want to coperate. I stripped all INITs, CDEV's, startup pictures, etc from my system folder and re-booted with just the minimum required to run, a System file and Finder.Same results(also with MultiFinder). Here is my system configuration: MacII with 5 Meg RAM System 6.0.2 Finder 6.1 ResEdit1.2b3 (yes a beta version...) I've tried to increase ResEdit's partition to 3 Meg and still get the same results.Anybody got any ideas? Am quite bummed... :-( :-( I had to borrow a friend's account to post this so please send all email to me at the following address: Scott Flatman <--- This is me. :-) INTERNET:leungt@prism.cs.orst.edu <--- This is the address.
