[comp.sys.mac.programmer] Learning Pascal on the Macintosh

granteri@pnet51.cts.com (Grant Erickson) (07/19/89)

I currently have a Macintosh IICX 40/1 and I own Lightspeed Pascal 2.0. I
currently know nothing about programming on the Macintosh and even less about
Pascal. I am interested in starting to make software and such for the Mac but
I do not know the path to get on to begin.

1) What books and or sources do you recommend to learn Pascal?
2) What books and or sources do you recommend to learn programming on the Mac?
3) Which should I learn first, Pascal or programming on the Mac?
4) Or should I do them both at the same time?

I have been recommended the following books and such but not a whole lot of
info on where to start...

Oh! Pascal & Oh! Lightspeed Pascal
How to Write Macintosh Software by Scott Knaster
Inside Macintosh 1-5 (already own 4 and reading it is confusing)
Tech Notes 1-2xx
Macintosh Revealed series by Stephen Chernicoff
Pascal on the Macintosh: A graphical approach.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated, please leave E-Mail, and I will
summarize to the net if you so desire.
