Greetings. First of all I'd like to thank those of you who responded to my question on printing gray scale on the LaserWriter. All I did was upgrade the printer driver using the 32 Bit Color Disk and my old code now generates gray scale. Simply amazing!! And yes, it is slow. On the order of 30 mins. Now a new question: Have I stumbled across a limitation in CopyBits? I am drawing to an 8 bit off-screen pix map and try to CopyBits to the screen. If my pix map is the full 8000x40 size of my data file I get vertical bands of garbage. Each band is a different color and width. When I use a different data file which is the first 3/4 of the first file (i.e. 6000x40) I get what I expect from CopyBits. Is CopyBits running out of memory? As with my previous question, I will be very grateful for any help. Thanks much. +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | John Terranova <-- me disclaimer --> What the hell do I know? | | jct@ice.geology.wisc.edu <-- address I come from Waunakee! | +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ song lyric: We'll drive into the sun and maybe never comin' back.
