I'd like to add some more suggestions

1> try to figure out how Think named their libraries. There is appearently
a cross between BSD and SYS 5 conventios used.

2> Contact the nethack-bugs. The people there are very very helpful. They
helped me port it to the NeXT. It only involved me changing one flag and
removing some code I had tried inserting.

3> Start with version 3.0. They include a tutorial for how to get started
at porting code. There is really only four files you need to modify in
almost all cases. These four make the makedef routine, which makes a whole
bunch of neato-nifty stuff.
