I'm playing around with my Mass Micro Colorspace II board doing some titling applications. So far so good, but I want to make some improvements, and rather than invent the wheel or spend too much time strolling down dead-ends, I thought I would beseech csmp readers for some pearls of wisdom. Here is what I need advice (or code) on: 1) Writing a VBL task that gives me a TickCount function for the CSII board. Right now I am using the Mac II's TickCount and correcting it to NTSC frame rates, but that seems somewhat inelegant. 2) Tips on speeding up my painting on the screen. Right now I am setting up 2 Cwindows, one on my main monitor and one covering the whole of the CSII screen. I draw my text into the main monitor window and then CopyBits it onto the second window. This works fine but it is a little slow. Are there any tricks of setting up color tables that will make Quickdraw do the job faster? If not, anyone got some direct blit blasting code (I took a stab at this but it didn't work right, sigh). 3) Anyone know how to tell the CSII board to enter it's different modes? For example, worst case, I would like to tell the board to go to video only mode, then I'll copyBits the new overlay and tell it to resume graphics+ video mode, thus giving me a crisp transition. Please email. And thanks in advance. -- (^;-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-;^) Robert J Woodhead, Biar Games, Inc. !uunet!biar!trebor | trebor@biar.UUCP ``I can read your mind - right now, you're thinking I'm full of it...''
