[comp.sys.mac.programmer] writing INIT - need help

riem@ztivax.UUCP (Raimund Riem) (08/29/89)

Hi there!

I need some help in writing an INIT, because I didnt
it just before.

Problem:
I often have to change Keyboard layout for different
languages vie ControlPanel / Keyboard. It last a long
time to bring the ControlPanel in front and to select
the desired item.

So I plan to write an INIT.

Task:
1. The INIT should read all KCHR Resources in the System
at startup. Thats no problem, I did it just before, when I wrote
an installer program for KCHRs.

2. Than the INIT builds up a Menulist and adds it
permanantly to the Menubar. How to get the Menu permanantly?

3. How can I get an Icon or a Pict to the Menubar, like
MacroMaker does?

4. Has the INIT to initialize all the toolbox managers?
Which of them?

5. Eventing:
Which events get the INIT? Whats about the Menuitemnumber?
It can change, because it depends on the number of current
menus? How should I formulate the event loop?

6. How can I get the information about the current
active KCHR and how can I set another KCHR?

7. How to define a startup icon to the init?

I someone has some hints to my questions, please send
me email. Thanks in advance.

If I manage to write my Keymap Switcher, I will post
it to comp.mac.binaries.
