I have a question maybe someone can answer. I called Symantec's upgrade line to get the upgrade from TC 3.0 to 4.0. Everything seemed to go smoothly. I haven't yet received my upgrade, though, which gives me some concerns. These concerns grew even more today when I received this month's credit card bill that informed me that Symantec billed my account on August 16. Is it possible that it could take 12 days to ship this to me (assuming it was shipped the same day as it was billed)? Also, totally unrelated, does anyone know where I can find a EPS file that contains the Apple logo (bitten Apple)? If someone has this (or a PICT file would be OK as well), could you send it to me? If they refuse to give it to you, then contact your credit card company. Billing you before shipping may not be illegal (I am not sure on this, but I actually think it is), but it is definately unethical. If this is the case, then your credit card company can usually rout you to the correct legal actions you can take against Symantic. Most likely, they will just tell you not to pay it and they will take it off your credit card. You can always pay later is their attitude. If you do this and Symantic has shipped, they give you the UPS number and UPS is having problems, then it might be fraud, that is why you should contact Symantic first. In any case, contact your credit card company. They know this better than anyone else you may know, including almost all lawyer you may happen to know. They make their livings on things like this, and they know the laws. They will tell you what you can and cannot do. Michael Rutman

It seems that they had stopped shipping upgrades on August 22 so that they could take inventory, and catch up on all of the upgrade orders received. They were to begin shipping again on Sept. 11 (Monday). The advice that I got was that if you still hadn't received your upgrade in 2 weeks, give Customer Support a call and tell them. BTW: I haven't received mine either... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Alan Takahashi ! hplabs amdahl Northern Telecom Inc. ! \ / Mountain View, CA ! .....!{-----}!bnrmtv!orion!takahash ! / \ "When you need to knock on wood is when ! 3comvax ames you realize the world's composed of !------------------------------------- aluminum and vinyl." -- Flugg's Law !
