[comp.sys.mac.programmer] MPW Projector and TOPS?

rek@sei.cmu.edu (Bob Kubiak) (10/13/89)

Articles that I have seen extolling the virtues of using Projector and a
file server for controlling multiple-user development projects have all
mentioned (perhaps only by chance) using it with AppleShare servers. I was
curious to find out if anyone had been using it in this mode with TOPS, and
what problems (if any) had been encountered.

Also, some folks are planning on using it primarily for version control of
items other than text, such as versions of PowerPoint slide files which make
up a set of lectures. I know it can handle this (using complete documents
in folders instead of text document deltas), but is this a reasonable tool
to use for this purpose, are there any better Mac-based version control
tools (short of Odesta's ODMS) that work with non-text files, etc.?

Thanks!
