Quoting from the back of my ImageStudio manual, "The RIFF specification is available from Letraset USA at 40 Eisenhower Drive, Paramus, NJ 07652. The specification is also available through AppleLink, CompuServe, and GEnie." I phoned Letraset USA <+1 201 845 6100> a while back and received back a free disk containing MPW C and Lightspeed C (2.01? if I remember correctly) source for parsing RIFF files, along with pertinent documentation files. There is at least one typo in the documentation and I remember having to make a few changes to get the LSC code running efficiently under LSC 3, but there weren't any major problems. I profiled and re-coded parts of the RIFF input routines in assembler and sped them up by the usual 3x or so. If you want diffs to the relevant file[s], send me mail.
