[comp.sys.mac.programmer] Solution needed to imagewriter problem.

gibson@carp.cis.ohio-state.edu (william kerr gibson) (11/02/89)

Hi, I wonder if anyone out there knows if there is a way to
convince an imagewriter (or any other mac dotmatrix printer), that
its pages are shorter than it thinks they are. I guess what i need is
a software solution that is not a printer driver, that enables you
to change the size of the page without using the presized pages
(like 8.5 by 11, US Legal, etc). For example, when I do
a prClosePage(), I might want it to only feed up to 500 pixels instead of
say, 792 pixels. I have searched manuals but to no avail. Is such an
effect possible at all? I'm sure that the usefulness of such a feature
could be imagined, and I need it for a project I'm working on, so please
send ideas.

Thank you in advance.
