Someone asked here recently about guidelines for the use of color. (Can't find the article...) Other than the skimpy information in Apple's Desktop Interface book, I've found two other references: * "Designing the User Interface, Strategies for Effective Human-Computer Interaction", Ben Shneiderman, Addison-Wesley, 1987. * "Using Computer Color Effectively", Wanda Smith, Prentice-Hall, 1989. I own the Shneiderman book. The information on color in it is pretty skimpy, too. I've never seen the Smith book. (Although I intended to look for it.) I found it as a reference in the bibliography of "X Window Systems Programming and Applications with Xt", Douglas A. Young, Prentice-Hall, 1989. --Pete pwp@shamash.cdc.com
