Every notice how some cdev's & init's (Remember?, for example) display
their icon at the start of a row, and then the next icon comes along
and draws it's icon right over the first? I had asked about this a
little while ago and found out why it happens (thanks Ken). So I
wrote a cute little init of my own to fix the problem. This init,
called ShiftShowInit, keeps the second icon from pouncing the first.
In order to use ShiftShowInit, you must first launch ResEdit. Open
ShiftShowInit, open the init resource, and copy the init named, oddly
enough, ShiftShowInit. Next open the init file that contains the icon
that gets drawn over. Open the init resources for that file and paste
in ShiftShowInit. Make sure that ShiftShowInit is on the top of the
init resource list so that it runs last. Close and save the init file,
and when you reboot, voila, the two icons that previously faught for
the same space now peacefully coexist.
ShiftShowInit is a kludge, and makes no attempt to correct the fact
that the first icon is drawing itself incorrectly. All it does it
let the next icon know where it is so it draws itself in the next slot.
By the way, if you don't have IconWrap, then none of this applies to you.
