Earlier this year I wrote a little MPW tool that asks the slot manager to tell it what stuff is installed, and prints any vendor info strings that it finds. The motivation for this was to be able to put up a cute little dialog showing what kind of Ethernet card a user of our software has installed. Well, it worked great, and I stuck that feature into our software, much to the amusement of some of our customers. However, I ran my little MPW tool again today, mainly out of boredom, and I was quite surprised to see it print out information about Slot 0, which is of course the motherboard. It told me I had a Macintosh II, Rev. 1.2, with a revision date of September 1987. Now, I may just have a faulty memory, but I could *swear* it didn't do that before I put 6.0.3 on my machine... Does anyone know if this is a new feature? Or was I just inattentive this spring :-)? Amanda Walker InterCon Systems Corporation amanda@intercon.com --
