Um, that was a design decision that went sour.  We were cheerfully 
counting all the files on the disc, because ISO 9660 doesn't contain a 
file count, and the Mac vcb does.  On discs with a large number of files, 
this takes too long. This comes from trying too hard to look as much as 
possible like a Mac disc...

In the next release of CD-ROM software, we'll zero out the vcbFilCnt 
field.  The only thing that uses this field is the Get Info box in the 
Finder (when you select the volume and pull down Get Info) so we also 
include a warning in the comment field when that case occurs.

Sorry, I don't know (and couldn't comment if I did know) when the next 
CD-ROM software release goes out the door.  I'm a spectator on this one.
