[net.micro] Info on Morrow MD2

wm@tekchips.UUCP (09/27/83)

After getting many requests for information on the Morrow MD2, I
thought I would send it out to the net. I am purchasing one of these
beasts for a relative to do word processing. It is basically a CP/M
machine (single board Z-80 w/64K) with two single sided floppies (the
MD3 has double sided ones). Two serial interfaces, one parallel.
Expansion port for up to two more floppies. As you might say, the
normal hardware. The exciting part is that it comes with Wordstar, a
spelling checker, Logi-Calc, two basics, Pilot, and a database system.
Morrow seems to have done a good job integrating all the software
together, plus adding a few new features such as some nice menus,
multiple diskette formats, and virtual drives.

I found the whole thing locally for $1054. Add $540 if you want the
Morrow terminal (I'm going to hook it up to a Heath H-19). I also got
the Silver Reed EXP-550 for $700 more. And the dealer is throwing in a
box of diskettes, cables, and a good Wordstar book.

I still have yet to hear of someone with a complaint about this box.
It hasn't arrived yet, so who knows, but from playing with it, it
was clearly the best deal for someone who doesn't know much about
computers, but wants to do word processing and simple financial type
stuff.

By the way, I have no connection with Morrow.
