Does anyone know what will happen to programs that can't run under Multifinder in System 7.0? This includes any program that needs to get at the Desktop file (e.g. ResEdit to examine or change it, or Disinfectant 1.4 to remove the WDEF virus). Also, any program that wants to use disks without putting a Desktop file on them. In particular, the HD Backup program that comes with the system can't run under multifinder, because the finder will intercept disk-insertion events and try to put a Desktop file on the backup disks. This is not only annoying and wasteful, but it also causes HD Backup to malfunction (at least with System 6.0.2 on an SE). So how do you close the Desktop and turn off the Finder under 7.0? Robert
