[comp.sys.mac.programmer] Postscript Sending Program

shumphre@nunki.usc.edu (Stephen Humphrey) (01/20/90)

Help! I need a quick and dirty project for someone who is a printing
expert. After capturing postscript output from a program (using Command-
F while printing to get it into a file), I want to send the postscript
file to a remote site and print it on a Laserwriter II NT. The remote
site does not have the program that originally created the postscript
output.

Shouldn't it be simple to write a short program which sends the complete
postscript file from the remote Mac to the remote LW? Either hints or
a completed program would be useful. I prefer to use LS Pascal but also
have LS C available.

I cannot get a copy of Inside Laserwriter for over two weeks, though I
suspect that this would be helpful.

Thanks,

Stephen Humphrey (SHUMPHRE@castor.usc.edu) (213) 747-2404

You are looking for the file: SendPS

I have version 2.0 available via anonymous ftp at: mace.cc.purdue.edu

Before anything else, cd into /pub/mac and get the README file. This will
tell you a few important things (for example, all of the files at this
site are stored in Stuffit only and uploaded in binary format... do you
know how to download in binary through ftp... check to make sure)
