People in our marketing department have been bashing me with questions that may or may not be moot. The situation they described is a little hard to follow, but I'll try to describe it as clearly and simply as I can: We start with a network with a variety of devices on it. Included in this mix of devices are Macs and LaserWriters. The Mac users have the 35 screen fonts that come with the LaserWriter. When a Mac user sends a file to a non-Apple PostScript printer, will the non-Apple printer be able to recognize the fonts selected in the file? Aside from mapping font names into other font names, is there anything else the printer needs to know to select the correct font? Thanks for any ammunition on this topic.
