Last night my roommates and I were sitting around remembering favorite TV shows of the past. Eventually we came up with a show for which we could only remember a few details. They are: The show came on before Green Acres. The setting seemed to be a mechanic's garage. The Main character was a mechanic who got his power from a pill kept in a ring he wore. There was on older balding character in the show. I know these are really skimpy clues BUT I bragged to my roommies that this great thing I'm always talking about (the NET) could probably come up with the answer. Any help you can give is appreciated. Send mail to me, thanks. Robert DeBenedictis decvax!yale-comix!debenedi

The hero was a wimp who got super powers by eating a pill. He could fly by flapping his arms. Now for you theme song triva experts: what are the words to the theme song? I can remember about 95% of it.

The show was called 'Mr. Terrific'. I can't remember the name of the actor who played the title character, but he was a wimp who became a superhero (sort of) when he swallowed the pill. The older character was his government chief and was played by John McGiver (or some such name).

There was also a "Captain Nice" show that was on the same season as "Mr. Terrific". I think he had the pill, while Mr. terrific drank a beaker of some stuff

The only show I can remember of a character turning super from a meek, mild-mannered character was the cartoon show UNDERDOG. His ring had a U insignia, of course. Not afraid to let people know my age J. M. Moe
